In term of the value proposition, firstly, "Hoong Kee" sells their food at a very low price even though they had became one of the most popular stalls in Kampar. Business Evaluation
Our group has choose Yau Kee and Hoong Kee from 36 stalls as our assignment topic because both of them are very famous in Kampar town. We had consult some Kampar residents, such as our friends as well as our lecturer, all of them told that Yau Kee and Hoong Kee has a very rich history and good reputation, many tourists will visit their stall or shop when they travel to Kampar.
As all of us are foreign students from different city or even different state, we would like to try some authentic local food which is only can be found in Kampar town before we graduated.
Business-to-consumer (B2C) is a business model which business sell to customer. B2C e-commerce is used to describe an e-commerce model between business and customers. For Hong Kee stall, there are no e-commerce model involve in their business model. They just use the traditional way of doing business transactions and interactions. Cash payment is the only way for the business transactions and do not deal with any payment card or online payment. However, e-commerce model exists in the Yao Kee Restaurant`s business. In addition to cash transactions, payment card transactions also can be done. Payment card is an electronic card that contains information which can be used for payment purpose. There are the three types of payment card which are credit cards, charge cards and debit cards, but only credit card and debit card can be do payments in Yao Kee restaurant.
Business Model is a part of Business Operation, it is a design for the
successful operation of a business, it includes of a business revenue sources,
products or services offered, customer base, and other details of operation.
For Hoong Kee stall, its business revenue sources is mainly from providing the
final products and services to the end users. As we mentioned previously, Hoong
Kee offered a substantial amount of products and services likes Wonton mee,
curry mee, Kon Lau mee, fried wonton, stuffed tofu, and Zhao Yuan. Besides of
that, the two main elements of customer base are target customer segment and
customer relationship. In term of the target customer segment, Hoong Kee
targeted that the local citizens from Kampar and students as their main
customer segment. It is because Hoong Kee is setting a low price for their
products in order to avoid adding financial burden to local citizens and
students, which will also lead to a greater value proposition, another
important element of business model. For customer relationship, Hoong Kee is
implementing a good customer relationship management, as it communicates very
well with their customers and always seek for feedback and recommendations.
Lastly, there is a partner network had been formed by Hoong Kee and the stall
beside them, which is a stall sells various types of drinking. As the stall
allows the consumers to order foods from Hoong Kee if they consume drink at the
stall.
For Yau Kee restaurant, their business revenue sources is mainly from providing
the products and services to the consumers as well. However, the differences
between Yau Kee and Hoong Kee is Yau Kee is providing non-final products and
services like Wah Wah abalone sauce and Wah Wah curry sauce. Besides, the final
products are chicken bun, Curry Chicken, Herbal Chicken, Roti, Claypot Yam
(Taro) and Duck Mee, Salt baked Chicken, Wong Tai Mee (Emperor Mee), Baby Romaine
Lettuce and dimsum. In term of the target market segment, Yau Kee targeted that
the visitors as their main customer segment as it is trying to provide all
types of famous foods of Kampar in order to let the visitors can try all of
that in their shop. So, the price range of Yau Kee will be above average.
Lastly, Yau Kee is building some good distribution channels, other than selling
the products to the end users, Yau Kee is also be a wholesaler for supplying
the chicken bun, abalone sauce, and curry sauce to others shops.

Marketing, Advertising and Recommendation
Marketing is the wide range of activities involved in making sure that you're continuing to meet the needs of your customers and getting value in return. Marketing is usually focused on one product or service. Thus, a marketing plan for one product might be very different than that for another product. Yau Kee Restaurant did some of the marketing strategies mainly focus on their Chicken Bun, Curry Chicken and Herbal Chicken. For example Yau Kee Restaurant has a very good place at the main Kampar road and they also set very reasonable prices for every food available to attract more customers. Yau Kee Restaurant also did some Inbound Marketing like they found out there are a lot of visitors and tourists from outside Kampar. Therefore, they are more focus on the tourists as their main potential target customers.
Kampar 36 stalls will not have so much marketing strategies compare to Yau Kee Restaurant because they have different owners for every different stalls. In other word their marketing strategy is only cook the foods that fit or suit all the customers and maintain a good relationship with all their customers in order to retain them as their loyal customers in Kampar area.
Advertising is bringing a product or service to the attention of potential and current customers. Advertising is focused on one particular product or service. Thus, an advertising plan for one product might be very different than that for another product. Advertising is typically done with signs, brochures, commercials, direct mailings or e-messages, personal contact, etc.
Yau Kee Restaurant did some of the advertising such as sponsoring UTAR or TARUC's events to raise awareness and let all the students know about their restaurant. Other than that, they also have their own Facebook page to promote their latest information or deals.
Yau Kee Restaurant also used some of the apps to promote their restaurant for example tripadvisor and foursquare. They also putted a lot of picture showing that a lot of famous person came their restaurant and eat before. Lastly, they also put some banners around their restaurant to get attention.
For Yau Kee Restaurant, we recommend that the restaurant should have website usability to get some feedback from customers though online. The restaurant can also provide helpful and informative detail pages, recipes and food preparation information about their curry burn. We also commend that the restaurant can also use their website to tell their restaurant's story. It gives customers an insider's view into Yau Kee's operations. We also recommend that the restaurant should have the ability (either directly or through your credit card processor) to access payment data in order to identify individual guests when they return. This data set is essential for them to know what had they ordered previously and can maybe give some discount on that particular food only for them individually.
For Kampar 36 stalls, it is very hard for them to use e-commerce to run their business because all of them are small business owner and they may not have extra money to implement e-commerce in their businesses. What they can do is open a free website to promote their stalls in order to keep maintaining the culture and also retain their current customers. We also recommend that they can provide navigation on their website to attract more foreign customers and make 36 stalls to become a great tourist attraction.
